Hamilton Southeastern Schools will hold a School Board election for District 3 on November 8, 2022. District 3 voters will choose between Dawn Lang and Dr. Carla Cork.

CANDIDATES

Dawn Lang is a registered Republican and has voted in Republican primary elections.

 

Lang wants the school district to “redirect priorities to the core mission of academic education.”

 

Lang supports parental consent for school surveys about students’ beliefs and attitudes, as well as legislation requiring more learning materials to be posted online.

 

Lang says “controversial political topics, activism, and ideology have taken precedence over” core academics as evidenced by dropping test scores and state rankings.

 

Among her priorities, Lang lists attracting and retaining great teachers, improving ILEARN and ISTEP scores, and improving literacy scores.

Dawn Lang is a mother of 3 and business leader. She is also involved in community organizations including Rotary International, Fishers Housing Task Force, and the Federation of Republican Women.

Dr. Carla Cork is a registered Democrat and has voted in Democratic primary elections.

 

Dr. Cork says her mission is to “education all children to reach their highest potential.”

 

On social media, Cork has celebrated Democratic candidates including President Biden and Vice President Harris.
